St James' Point

St James' Point

St James’ Point is a hidden gem located on the southern coast of Grand Cayman, offering an off-the-beaten-path experience for adventurous visitors. The beach itself is somewhat secluded, with remnants of a resort that once stood here now lying in ruins. It’s not the easiest beach to access, but those who venture down Beach Bay Road will be rewarded with a unique, rugged landscape that feels worlds away from the busier tourist areas. This beach isn’t ideal for swimming due to the rough waters and occasional sargassum buildup, but it’s perfect for those looking for a quiet spot to enjoy nature. When we visited, we were fortunate enough to see some wildlife conservationists monitoring sea turtle nests—a testament to the area’s natural beauty. The beach is rarely crowded, and you’ll likely have the place to yourself, making it a peaceful escape from the island’s more developed beaches. There are no facilities or nearby restaurants, so be sure to bring your own food, drinks, and supplies if you plan to spend time here.
